Any pointers on my quest?
When you get approved for both of those cards, don't look back and throw pre-approvals for cards like those right into the shredder.

OK I need to find some answers..............................................
I stated in another thread that my Cap1 minimum payment was decreased for this month, which is good. But now I just checked my CreditOne Bank and they too have decreased the minimum payment from last month. My usage has been fairly much and thats what has me puzzled. Are they conforming to federal laws or being understanding of the current economic crisis??????
YOU know what!!!! My Capital One mdue payment also went down by 50%... Now thats crazy. It doesnt bother me cause my payments are way over the minimum payment but it is something to think about. I was looking over my stmt and I didnt have any APR reductions. The only thing that happened is that my balance went up by like $1000! Also on my statement, below the "Your Account Information" it now has a "Rewards Summary" section. I have not upgraded or requested one. SO IDK wtf is up with that. It doesnt bother me! lol.

My dad said that they asked about her inquiries. I know they just bought a company vehicle a couple of months ago and then I applied at BofA for a personal loan and he applied for Citibank and BofA credit card. I didn't think that was a lot of inquiries. I don't know what info he isputting on her app. I'll call them today and see if they have heard from BofA. I know she has a Capital One card but not sure which one and it is paid off. And the late payments were about 2 years ago on her Cap 1 card.
Wonder if it would be easier to get a business card(my dad owns his own business) I don't know which Citibank or BofA card he applied for. Wonder if it was one that requires a much higher score than she has. We are getting down to the wire now though so I'm kinda freakin out. We are supposed to leave for Mexico(where wedding is going to be) this Friday. But if this doesn't work out I may need to leave right before Christmas. But believe me I have learned my lesson about those stupid payday loans!!
Thanks you guys

Well, time to go into a cave and build my credit. I will come out when I discover fire.

I'm thinking collateral or refi. That is about the only thing that is happening, and to let you know, I was declined for that even though my car was paid for
Yeah and those new laws are expected to be passed this week; the "experts" are saying it is going to tighten credit even more

Yes, it is my step mom. My dad is the one who I talked to today to see if she was approved. They are both trying to help me out. My dad says he doesn't have any credit b/c after my mom and him divorced he hasn't really used it(that was over 10 yrs ago).
Dang. You need to educate him cash is always better but in this country unless you have a ton of cash you need credit.
Seriously though, if she is declined again you might need to look into something else. So BofA and now Citi have declined her? Hmmmm.

Thanks everyone, I forwarded the information to my dad.
I called him today and he said he tried for Citibank and they declined the request. He said he was just waiting to hear back from BofA. My step mother currently has a checking account through them, not sure how long she has had the account.
Keeping our fingers crossed
I thought your step monster was applying. If you guys are declined even once more you might have to try something else. Like Thomas1 said, maybe use an existing account.
