Even though that is the same thing I agree with, but it made me think of how we have to be towards our cc's. When we first signed up at FG, it was a privilege to call our creditor's and speak to them. Now, we are too afraid to make a phone call because just our luck, when we hang up the phone, all kinds of decreases and increases may occur. It's like saying we are being selected by the anti-christ, no one wants to go first.
I know we are not professionals in the finance world, but I encourage those to ask a question here before asking your creditors. You may never know, out of 4454 members (and counting) someone might just have the answer you are looking for. Some of everyone here have gone through bad times and the unforeseen with their creditors so don't be afraid to ask and definitely don't wait to hear it from someone else. Find out now!

I would not call them and bring that to their attention because they might raise your minimum payments and APR. Just leave things the way they are and roll with it.

I seen your posting and the results cireone. I don't think I would worry about the min decreasing, it could be because your APR is lower or payments being made to the account period. I would say call them, but just in case it is an error, it will not be your fault. But if you are really curious, I would call them and ask.
I agree with you hjm:white-flag:

Who knows? You shouldn't be worried about minimum payments unless you are paying minimum payments on your accounts. Try to pay them off ASAP or else creditors will look at your differently and it will get worse.

OK I need to find some answers..............................................
I stated in another thread that my Cap1 minimum payment was decreased for this month, which is good. But now I just checked my CreditOne Bank and they too have decreased the minimum payment from last month. My usage has been fairly much and thats what has me puzzled. Are they conforming to federal laws or being understanding of the current economic crisis??????

Focus on paying off the card with the smallest balance which will cut down to 3 cards with balances.

I agree! Or use it towards the one with the highest balance. I usually target the ones with the highest balance and then pay more on the ones with the lowest balance. I know targeting the one with the highest APR is a better choice, but those are the cards that I don't let get to high. Which is actually HOOTER'S!

Hello and happy holidays all, I have a question I hope you guys can help me with. I just got my Christmas bounus and am unsure where to put it I have 9 cards with only 4 with balances, but all 4 are close to the limit within say $100.00. I can pay off one $533.00 and pay the other 3 $100.00 each or distribute it evenly or pay off 2 and pay the others like $100.00 each, what should I do? I appreciate any and all help.
Use all $100 to pay off the card with the highest APR.

i had A 325 credit score i have brought that up to a 651 in two years it just doesnt make any sense to me can some one tell me what the deal is with this and is it legal to just drop me for no legit reason thanks
I have to say it and keep in mind I am not judging you or anything like that, but 325??? That is impressive, you almost have to really work to get it that low. What happened??
I did not even know that Firestone had a card; I would start taking your car to Goodyear and write Firestone themselves a letter stating that they have lost your business for good over this.

I read a great article that I will try to find the link for that discusses whether it matters if you or the creditor closes the account and it said that it doesn't matter who initiated the closure, all FICO cares about is if the account is open. That being said, you may see you score dip a little, since you've had it over a year, but if you have other accounts with longer histories it may not be affected at all. It also went on to say that the balance owed at the time of closure plays an important part. At any rate, what ever you loose, you will regain with with a good payment history on down the road. so yeah you're pissed off, but you definitely want to live up to the terms of the agreement. You'll be rewarded tremendously down the road.

kttykt1963, technically, they can close your credit card account without notice because they own the account and it is THEIR MONEY that they're LENDING YOU. Don't feel bad though because this is happening to a lot of people. Creditors are really tightening their standards so if they see that you have something on your report that they don't like, they will close your account. Hopefully others can chime in.

Another avenue you could take would be if you have a relative who has substantial savings of certificates of deposit, who would be willing to obtain a loan for you. The bank will usually lend against the cd or savings collateral until the loan is paid back. Depending on the bank, they may not even hard pull the bureau with the collateral already at hand.
Other than what Colonative suggested very well above, those woul probably be about your only route.
Good luck, Delci06 with this and your marriage.
