HJM/COLO] Actually there was ONE card at Citi that was still managed that way... being able to apply your overpayment to your next mindue. They discontinued it like a few months ago. I just cant remember which card it was.
Hey Rivas, do some people still have that Choice card or has Citi reissued them as Citi cards?

ColoNative, that was before everyone started defaulting on their cards and lenders began to lose trust in consumers.
Oh yeah. I can't even remember now when they got rid of it, I want to say 2002.

Meya] Youd b suprised how many people still think that exists. They become pastdue because they automatically assumed the extra payment or overpayment was gonna go towards their next bill, get all upset over their stupid LF because it was their fault and continue to complain and say the card sucks because they can do that w/ their other cards and not us... oh really what other cards actually still do that??!!!

I remember that! That was the old school ways before i messed up my report. Yeah, and come to think of it, I remember it sooooo good until like 3 years ago, when I paid a hunk on my Orchard card right before the statement closed and the balance was like maybe $40, I had to pay the min balance on $40. I was like huh?: I just gave you.....what the..........so I called them, and they ran new game down to me....lol. Glad I called because it used to not be like that. But in the long run, it taught me how to handle my bills better because paying more was better for me anyway. But you are so correct Colo, that is the way it used to be.Crazy. A long time ago they would let you "skip" a payment. If you paid more then your minimum the previous month whatever excess you paid was applied towards the next months minimum. Like lets say the minumum was $15 and you paid $30, the next month showed $0 owed. They took that away a long time ago though. This sounds different then what is going on now.

Pop all of those bad boys in the shredder and say muwahahahahaha (evil laugh).
I must agree with ColoNative. None of them are worth your time and will probably give you a headache in the long run. They're too loaded with fees IMO.

So I recieved three mailings in the last 3 months. One from CorTrust, Legacy, and now Show. They all have different looks and are issued by different banks but the one thing in common is that the have the same inserts, APR, and scheme going on. Are they serviced by the same company, such as what CompuCredit would do???????

Yeah, I know weird huh.
My dad said that they asked about her inquiries. I know they just bought a company vehicle a couple of months ago and then I applied at BofA for a personal loan and he applied for Citibank and BofA credit card. I didn't think that was a lot of inquiries. I don't know what info he isputting on her app. I'll call them today and see if they have heard from BofA. I know she has a Capital One card but not sure which one and it is paid off. And the late payments were about 2 years ago on her Cap 1 card.
Wonder if it would be easier to get a business card(my dad owns his own business) I don't know which Citibank or BofA card he applied for. Wonder if it was one that requires a much higher score than she has. We are getting down to the wire now though so I'm kinda freakin out. We are supposed to leave for Mexico(where wedding is going to be) this Friday. But if this doesn't work out I may need to leave right before Christmas. But believe me I have learned my lesson about those stupid payday loans!!
Thanks you guys
Creditors do not like to see three inquiries in any 60 day time frame; however, if they can tell that they were for mortgage or car shopping it shouldnt matter. Does your step monster have an existing credit card that she can use?
Payday loans are bad business. Maybe when you get settled you can get a line of credit at your bank (over draft protection) so that you can use that instead if you get a little short in between paychecks.
I don't know what else to tell you at this point. I would avoid applying for the Discover Card at this point, they are pretty strict, I just don't know if she should apply for any more cards at this point.
I hope it works out for you and enjoy your wedding!
