We are not for an exact sure how the fico08 works yet, lets just wait and see what happens. But yes, I have heard that fico08 will be of no recognition. But then again, I heard something different. I have heard that they will not remove it, but just in case, get your credit together by youself.Quick question, I thought I read on here someplace that being and Authorized user no longer can be used to improve ones credit rating. True or untrue?
Thanks,

I wouldn't go for any Amex right now. They are handing out F/R's, CLD's and putting caps on charge cards like it is candy. Even if you are never late with them or you PIF. It's not a good company to do buisness with right now. I am watching to see what happens in the next year or so to see what is going on with the credit climate.
Agreed. I have heard more nightmare stories about them lately, and I believe they just announced they were letting go of 4000 people, that they are not the company to be looking too right now.

Can anyone give me the credit criteria Amex is looking for on the Green card?

I think it depends on if the lender has adopted the new FICO standard.

Yes I was with Bank One, which I opened in Texas, then in 2004 fall Chase took over for that region, but Bank One never would offer cc at the atm machine like this, I also told Chase that I didnt want to be solicited for bank products like this and I guess that didnt work. Chase has really changed things and even when I go into a branch things just dont seem the same with the attitiude of the employees who were Bank One a few years ago. Thanks for the info that others have also seen this just thought I had hit the wrong button some how getting money for dinner out last night. I dont need cc right now and even told Chase on my current cc with them which is a Chase rewards Ive had for 4 years that I didnt want any cli on that card and no 3rd party offers either. With all the bank problems you would think they would like the fact I am paying everying thing with my chase atm card (cash) and not using cc.
See that's funny how you liked Bank One better. The thing is, Bank One is still very much alive wearing the Chase logo. Chase wanted to buy/merge with Bank One for its credit portfolio and banking centers. I feel that the service on my old Chase card has gone down ever since Bank One/First USA took over the Chase cards. The BofA/MBNA merger actually made me happier with BofA because before I hated them. Go figure.

I just went thru the Chase Drive Thru ATM tonight and got some money out of my cking account, and before it would finish it said I had been pre approved for a Chase Platinum Card, It made me say yes or no before it would complete my cash withdrawl from checking. Has anyone had this happen to them thought it was strange doing a cash withdrawl from my cking account with them.
Ah, the whole cross sell approach. When my little brother applied for his checking account they got him for a Visa card right away. I opened a checking and savings account from a local bank three years ago and they cross sold me on a Visa card and overdraft right away.
You must have had your Chase (Bank One) for a while before banks started to do this. I hear it is pretty common these days.

I'm a Wachovia (legacy) customer and I went to the ATM yesterday and got the same offer. I thought these guys were in a credit crunch...:

They converted my mom's to a visa a year after she stopped using it. She stopped using it, after they told her they didn't give increases. Even then, they only gave her a 1K limit. This month will mark one year that I've had the regular card and I'm still at $500. I haven't used it over six months now and don't plan to anytime soon. I was told that you could go into the store and apply for one and see if they will upgrade you, that's if you're ok with a new inquiry. Good luck! IMO, they're just not worth a new inquiry.
Yeah. I don't think they are either. Whenever other banks look at my credit report and see a card with a $400 limit they begin to wonder why that bank won't trust me with a higher limit. That's what's keeping my Discover and BoA from being CLId at the present moment. (As per Discover and BoA retentions)
