I kind of figured it was an online app. Well here is the good news, you do not have to wait 6 months, you can go in within 3 or 4 months and ask for one. They will let you know across the phone when you best date to call in. I keep forgetting mines all the time so I call and ask, or I get cracked in the face at the counter

Yes we did apply on line; his score as of 5/1/09 TU 648 EQ 647 EX? in 6 months we will go inside of the store and apply that way. We live like 7 minutes from the mall and we do use our card a lot we pay it off every 2 months never been late on any of his credit cards or loans since the rebuilding stage(2004)...

Got my response from gemb, a denial. a teller at my local bank, bancorp south told me i qualified for a credit card from them though..... $300 limit, $50 annual fee, 19% interest. at this point, since i am re-building and have many inquaries and not the best credit, it seems like a good deal, but i dnt know. i have one first premier card that i have had for 8 months now, another credit card i have had for 2 months, a store card.... do i really need one more cards to re-build? i think waiting a while is a better idea. i just need to keep myself from applying for everything. most of my many inquaries will fall of by august of this year too.

OK does anybody know why Macy's only gives $100.00 CLI? We have had this card since April 2008 with a $300 cl in Dec we asked for a CLI and they gave us $100.00 moved us up to $400.00 so today we call and they were like yes we can give you a limit and then she said $100.00 what gives?

Like Meya said, if you applied online this could be effecting your CLI's. Do you know what your credit score is? I believe they look mostly at Experian (them and everybody else it seems). If you are in the mid to high 600's you should be getting better increases. Do you shop a lot there? That could be effecting it as well.

Try what Meya said, go to the store and request the CLI and let us know what happens.

Nine times out of ten, if you applied for this card online, I have heard of them only giving $100 cli increments. Next time go into the store, walk straight to a cashier, and tell them you want to shop but need a higher limit. I have seen this work all the time. When I first applied in the store, I received a $300 cl, but my cli's are $500, and I do not ask for one until I walk up to a cashier. Give it a try on your next cli and see what happens.

Also, I have heard of this if you live far away from the nearest Macy's. A few people in here has complained of this issue . :worried:

I know i should not be applying for any more credit untill my many many inquaries fall off, but i just applied for the q card account from gemb, and didnt get an approval or denial. i got message saying we will notify you within 7 to 10 days. does this usually mean approval or denial?

Sometimes it just means that they need more information.

I wouldn't open too many accounts with them just because they're a subprime lender and are known for CLD's. They are currently struggling and are not afraid to take action.

Your credit score. If its borderline they might look deeper into your credit report to make a final decision

what would be the reason for a denial or approval not being instant?
