Chase :cc: WOW! "...knock my socks off..."!!! Or is it the "...bee's knees..."? At 6PM today (Thursday, April 15, 2010) I received a call from and account supervisor at Chase who reviewed my Chase Rewards Visa (personal account). She asked me what I felt my credit line should be (after Chase lowered it two weeks ago) and gave me some tips on how to maximize rewards and minimize future computer credit line reductions. She was very professional, polite and down right nice (personal discussions beyond business - military families both of us). When all was said and done, she increased my credit line back to the original amount of $13,500 with 12.24% purchase interest and 19.24% interest cash at their "elite" pricing I am told. Can you believe that...??? She also told me Chase was not doing product changes. I suggested that Chase could migrate my account over to a Chase AARP Card (truth AARP is under contract and I figured Chase wouldn't tamper with the specialty contracted accounts). :moneybag: WOW... tell me that's not love from a big bank?! Hmm... trying to hold on to good accounts? Makes you wonder?

Hey Meya, same thing happened to me on Macy's in December because they switched there policy all of the sudden to CLI's every 6 months as opposed to 3. But I called last week and it's back on a 3 month review (with the hard pull). I just went ahead and did it and got a 700 CLI. YEA!!! But it's going to be a while before I do it again.

Hey, hey, hey,...You go Buddie! I am so glad to see this thread rocking again. It was moving like a turtle for a while, but seems like its going back to the good Ole days....lolz!

I am happy to reply after reading some posts on here and a recent one about someone applying for the PayPal MC and instead got the Buyer Credit Line of Credit. I decided to do the same thing. Denied MC but got the line of credit. $500.00. And...I already have a paypal debit card so I linked it to the line of credit, and it now works as an overdraft line of credit without the fees of course. my FICO 592.

That was me, got the buyer credit last week with a 400CL. Bbbbuuuttt, congrats on the approval. Yea, its ok that I didn't get the MC cause I buy tons of stuff on ebay anyways. Plus, with the paypal account, you can buy just about anything online.

Way to go tanyia, thanks for the valuable info. I had a hard pull on me about 7 months ago from Macy's and I was denied the cli due to recent request less than 6 months, and high util. I never asked for another from them.

But beware starting this year they now do a hard pull inquiry on your credit report.

The credit rep failed to mention this to me If I had known I wouldve passed, I found out when my credit report was pulled and it was on there.

Tanyia

P. S. no more calling for me for a long while

Hey everyone! Sorry I've been out of touch lately, but I'm back. Listen, I don't know what's going on with GE today, but with JCPenney card, I've been at a $500 CL for almost a year. I haven't requested in increase in probably about a year because I gave up and got tired of hearing 'no' all the time. But today I figured why not give it a try and low and behold, I hit the love button online and I went from a 500 CL to an 1800 CL. They actually asked me online if I wanted to request a lower limit, I was like; H*ll no, I'm taking the full increase lol. I just wanted to share that information.

I got another HSBC Discover about 4 or 5 months ago. This one had 300 dollar limit as well. Thought I would combine the two, no such luck representative told me that they no longer took request to combine cards because of the CARD act.

Long time no see Jay. So they still offer those Direct Rewards Discover Cards? I have not seen anything about them for a while. HSBC is not alone in no longer combining-or even upgrading cards. I guess a lot of banks are no longer doing that.

Wow, a $2K HSBC Discover card! Does anybody know if HSBC still counter offers the Direct Rewards card to people who were declined from Discover while applying online? I have not heard anything about the HSBC Discover in a long time.
