I'm an AU on my brother Cap1 card (repeat:cool:). I've read a post on back door number by Kearon? Can't remember user name., however he said that his wife called 877-513-9959 and got a CLI. On my AU Cap1 card , all three payments were made and I had my brother call a few weeks ago, they kept transfering his call...and the first request was declined.
Today after calling the number above the Rep/give him/us a CLI of $600. She said it will show online in 3 days and was that good enough...man I should have said "hell No" but I didn't want to be greedy.

So there you have it $300 CL to $600 in three months. Woosah!

Go to the store and ask:fun:!! 9 out of 10 customer service reps don't have the authorization to ok CLI's. I know the drive is long...hopefully it would be worth the trip.

I have asked them once before and they didnt pull a hard inquiry but within a secnd, said I was denied. Orchard was the same. Gave me the whole speech, then bam, INSTANT DENIAL!!!!!!!

It wows me that others on the forum get it without speaking or clicking a mouse. But oh well, probably not meant to be.

Cireone, have you called them and asked for a CLI? Make sure they don't pull a hard inquiry, they love to do that. They pulled a hard inquiry twice when I asked for a CLI and denied both of my requests. That is why I closed my account with them.

Ive had the BestBuy Mastercard for well over a year and have been in perfect history with them. I have yet to see a CLI, whether it be auto or requested. Thats odd.

I heard they give auto-CLI's on the Best Buy MC until your CL reaches $1k.

1. Well called Chevron yesterday and tried to ask for a cli, they shut me down, but gave me a little good news. He told me to wait until next month to ask for a cli because I got one close to 4 months ago. I am nearly at the cap with the card (cap is max $2500 cl on my card) and I might just qualify for the max amount. I told him if I ask for cap being that I have only received $400 increments would they say no since I would be asking for $700. Well he said I would get a counter offer for a lower cl, what ever it is, I will take it.....lol. I know having $2500 worth of gas limit is pretty crazy but the trade line is all good baaaabaaaay! I am going to start back using the card so they can make some little change off of me before asking again.
:fun:

2. Juni did the same thing, I am so tired of them denying me. Do they even offer cli's? This is another creditor that I don't understand their 'Periodic Reviews". I don't think they are reviewing nothing but our credit reports to see if we defaulted somewhere :upset:

3. Lowe's said account to new............Whatever, my money was crisp and new when I paid you all back, but did I complain/ NO!:upset:

4. Select Comfort said "Not" they will send the mystery letter (that they already know the reason why) in the mail to better explain. How dare them, after all I went through with the phony over the limit with them. :upset:

It's on now folks!

Thanks so much! Closed accounts by consumer looks much better than being closed by creditor, from what I can imagine, it shows that we surrendered by choice and there is no other reason for the next creditor to worry about. When closed by consumer, they get a little nervous as to why it was closed. I think it makes the next creditor bite their finger nails and think "Hummmm, did they close because this person was having difficult times with repayment?" or "Was the creditor not able to better identify this person" Who knows what they may think of us. When they slap the denial in our face they never want to tell us across the phone but know the reason why in advanced.

It is my understanding that if you close an account with a 0 balance that the TL age should report as a positive TL for 10 years. It will not count towards your utilization as it would have a 0 balance. When I pulled my fico's (Suzy O kit) my only positive on that report was my account age that was from my old cap 1 account that I openend in 1998, it was closed for non usage in 2004 (closed by grantor). It should report as a positive TL for me until 2014, which will give the new credit I started again last year some time to age.
Now the closed by grantor does not look as good as a closed by consumer. I will have to look that info up again as to why. My brain is fried after working a 12 hour shift, so sorry if I'm not being clear or answering what you were asking. :white-flag:
