Shark6, way to go! Congratulations on the cli's. I guess its the season to start asking for increases.

So I called a week ago for my macys card to request a CLI. The rep was nice and spoke great english. Anyways, we went over my account but she said that I didnt have a 4 month payment history. HMMM.......I haveused nad said PIF the card more than four times. But I havent used the card in awhile because the nearest Macys is like a bargain bin one. Old merchandise, where as I have to travel a ways away to goto the store that has a better selection. Maybe thats what she was trying to explain.Oh well.

Also, a couple of months ago I requested and got an increase of $500 for my Cap1 Visa. It was alo under the creditsteps program. Well when I called the backdoor number, the rep had no idea what the creditsteps program was. He then put me on hold for a couple of minutes and came back saying that he has no control over that program and he couldnt look into it. He told me to try back in a few months since the last increase was just i august. So no such luck with Cap1 either.

Ok, all of this talk about Macy's got me to call in right now for a GLI. My last increase was on June 23rd, so I called in exactly 3mths and 3days.

I have 2 macy's account and on the one with the largest limit, I went from $2700 to $4800, an increase of $2100 . When I called in last June, I went from $2k to $2700.

On my second Macy's , I went from $1400 to $2500, an increase of $1100. My last increase in June was from $1k to $1400- an increase of $400.

These combined increases of $3200 will help my utilization. I hope to see a bump in my Fico scores. I have to say that I did not expect that large of an increase from Macy's. However, on my first call, I told her that I have had this card for over a decadeand that i have only called in about 2-3times for an increase. I also told her that we were thinking about taking a vacation up norht and would be needing to purchase outerwear for my entire family.

This card, I have been using more heavily than I had in the last 4yrs and I have paid way over the minimum and never late.

The second call, they asked for my license# which I thought was odd but she said that if i ever lost my card or misplaced it, i could come into the store, swipe my license and the card info would come right up.
This card i have not used much, only a $99 bal but pay more than minimum and on time.

I called Cap 1 last week and no luck on the increases. She said that the computer didn't have any offers for me today

Hello every one i contacted Crown Jewlers and i ask for a credit limit increase. (they started me at 2500) i also adv them that i have purchased 3 items and have never missed a payment. They told me that i have been approved for a 500$ credit limit increase so now my limit is 3000$.... Yes this will further boost my credit score.....

Well, I guess that I will report that Credit One gave me a measly $100 cli. I just saw it on my statement. I have a question, my balance with them is $26 and my limit is $700. I just paid them off a couple of months ago ($400 balance) and just been purchasing snacks and cigarettes on the card. Why in the world would they give me $100 when my last cli was $200

That bites. The good news is that you are almost done with your baddies reporting and I guarantee you're going to get some pretty fantastic offers from banks here shortly. Then you can sock drawer that credit one card.

I know the first answer is going to be through the crises that we are all suffering with but we was not doing to good 6 months ago neither. I used the card heavier after my last cli and now I get slapped in the face with this.

Wait, let me stop being so unappreciated, I am happy for the cli, but at the same time, they hurt my feelings. Oh well, I will take it and run with it but will like to see something better the next time.:

MEYA!MEYA!MEYA! OMG! I COULD CRY!! I just got approved for my MACY's card! I just got off the phone with them and they only needed to verify address info! They gave me a $600 limit! I can't believe I was approved since they turned me down flat, cold, like an abusive boyfriend back in April. Thank you so much Meya, I wouldn't have reapplied without your advice and the stuff I read on this site.

Hey, we're just here to help. All the credit goes to you for being able to stand up and having the courage to apply for credit cards. Believe it or not, most people don't have that courage. Congrats on your new cards and good luck on re-building your credit.

HJM They already started with the freaking discounts!! 10% on my first billing statement, $15 off $100, and tomorrow 20% off for cardholders!! I'm ecstatic guys, and a little teary:scared:, I've only been a member since April and you all have given me the confidence to stand up and ask for credit from places I never thought would say those magic words, "You're Approved!"

I agree with the others, the Macy's card is a great card to have in your possession and not only will they reward you with coupons for shopping with them but they will also help re-build your credit.
