Hey smcc, I am thinking more of....is Ohwoody wanting to know if Discover forgives]https://www.financeglobe.com/SocialNet/forum/showthread.php?t=538&highlight=friendly[/URL]Ohwoody your assuming that they (Discover) are still carrying your account on their books. Could it be that they have sold your account to a third party for collection ?
Although a record of the account fell off your credit report, I'm sure Discover has a record of your previous account which I'm assuming can be found by your Social when looking up an archived account
I have came back to a few of my creditors, it was not through bk, but it was all charge offs.

That depends on which cb is holding the info. The same thing happened to my sister and I. Experian dropped 2 of my inq 30 days after it was suppose to come off. They are like crazy glue.I thought inquaries were supposed to not show on my report after 2 years, right? there are 3 that are still there this month that are over 2 years old. should i dispute them? how do i go about getting the taken off?

That is great news to hear! Thanks for sharing this info kforbes86:white-flag:Hello everyone. i just looked at my updated credit report for the month.... it jumped up 17 points in one month, just because i paid a balance down on an account. will just paying a balance down really raise my score 17 points in one month?

I made a $500 payment on my Hooters Mastercard on Monday, and now it's Friday, and that available credit has not freed up. It still says I have my same limit, but my available credit doesn't reflect the $500 payment made 5 days ago. Is Hooters now waiting 7 days for payments to clear?
I recently got a CLI from Hooters, and have always paid on time, and never had a payment returned. I would call customer service, but I'll probably get too pissed off at them and end up cancelling the card, so I guess I'll just wait and see.
You know what??? I have been having the same problem with Hooters over the last 3-4 months. When they 1st did it, I called in and said what's going on and I got the textbook answer of our system periodically holds payments for up to 7 business days.
Next month will be my year mark with and I have yet to see a CLI... I really am very dissapointed with them... At this point, I don't know if I really want to keep it, because after a year dont they split up your ann fee into 12 months?

Wait a couple more months and if they don't come off, don't worry about it because it won't count against your score and lenders will ignore it since it has been more than 2 years.

As far as your inquiries go, contact the Bureau in question and make them aware of your situation. They will be glad to rectify that issue
Again, conrgats !

It could be a combination of 2 or more factors. When you a balance down, you reduce utilization and if you completely pay off a card to a $0 balance, you get points for that too because the FICO scoring system lowers your scores when you have too many accounts with balances.
