Kforbes86, do you any other positive accounts on your credit reports other than First Premier?

Hi, everyone, i have been gone a while, but i am back now. i have some questions for those of you who have more experience re-building. i have terrible credit, but is getting better slowly. i have been really comitted to cleaning it up for the last 8 months or so. my first premier account is hitting the year mark this month, and am being charged a $49 annual fee. is it worth keeping since it is my oldest open account? i have had no problems with them whatsoever except for the fees that suck. the one other thing is i just used the pre-qualify tool on household bank/hsbc website, and was approved for the household bank platinum mastercard, only if i mail them a $19 processing fee. is it worth paying the small fee and opening the account with them?

Is the $19 processing fee the only fee? You don't want to get another credit card with an annual fee. Do you have a Capital One card yet? If not, I would suggest them first. You do not want to go on mad app sprees for cards that just won't grow with you.

You actually can request to be removed as an AU getting a copy of all 3 credit reports and put in a dispute for his accounts and just say theses are not your accounts. I did this and the accounts were gone within a month. Good luck and I hope this info will help you. P.S. I'm still learning how to rebuild my credit. I was in the same situation you are in but I had to file bk after my divorce because I had 2 repos and hospital bills, and credit card bills that were all new.

Welcome to FG, ROTHRIM!

We're going to need some more information from you so we can help out. We need to know how much debt you currently have in your name and if you can take a portion of your income and use it to payoff your current debt. You have to try to avoid filing BK at all costs because from what I understand, BK CH7 will stay on your reports until for 7 years and it will hurt your chances of buying a car or a house in the future.

I understand being a single parent (especially a mother) can be very tough because not only do you have to take care of your children but make a living also. Is there a way that you can add an additional source of income such as child support from your ex-husband?

ETA (Edited to Add): If you're still keeping touch with your ex-husband, I would recommend asking him to remove you as an AU from his credit card accounts because he may not care about his credit and whatever shows up on his reports will show on yours even though you're not liable for his debt.

Hello All! I am new to the forums! I stumbled upon here when looking for easy approval bad credit - credit cards.

Here is my story! I am 23 years old, a single mother with horrible credit! I obtained my first credit card when I was 18 and kept applying from there. However, since then I have been married and seperated! Was an AU on all his cards, that are now in collections status. I have many bad credit, credit cards such as First Premier Bank and Continental credit cards in collections!

I would like to find a way to get started to cleaning up my credit and maybe settling my most recent cards (newest to oldest cards, cleaning them up).

Could anyone guide me on starting this process? I would like to have a nice 800 score by the time im 30....

Thank You!
Roth

p.S.! I am also considering filing BK Chap 7 ??

From what I've heard, very few people have been approved for a CL large enough to finance a Mac computer. I'm not sure if things changed when Barclaycard bought Juniper but personally, I wouldn't take the risk of applying for a card and getting stuck with a $500 CL and no computer.

As Colo said, Barclay Bank Delaware bought out Juniper recently and they now own those iTunes Visa accounts.

What is the Barclaycard? Specifically, Apple is now offering one on their website. They used to offer the juniper card. Hmm... I did a little research and found it's for companies or banks to subcontract their account out? Maybe similar to Elan? If anyone has good info on them, post it here.

Not sure if this is a real question but here goes my answer. Barclaycard is the credit card division for Barclays Bank PLC. As I understand it, Barclaycard is a name usually used in the UK. Here, Barclays Bank Delaware bought what used to be Juniper Bank. I see that Apple.com has the Barclaycard available. It looks like this card is really only useful for financing a Mac since they offer same as cash financing for 12 months.

I had similar problems trying to dispute my brothers CC that I was an authorized user many years ago. He stopped paying the bill and I had to fight with the CBs to get it off.

Disputes must be made individually with each credit bureau:dumbfounded:. They do NOT share the information. It would be nice so you could bring equality to your reports but it doesn't work that way. I have already been through the process. It takes time and persistence. You may find the staff at the Credit Bureaus are unable to get it right and you may have to redo more than once the same thing. Yes, it is unreal but it is what it is. I just turned into a "pit bull" and stayed the course. Took about six months and finally the three bureau's were right. Even today Equifax still is missing seven years of my credit history and it is costing me FICO points on the average account life. But today I live with it.:white-flag:

I have a problem. I'm trying to rebuild my credit after bankruptcy 12-2008, so I was put on my boyfriend sears and first premier cards because I thought he was really trying to improve his credit scores also, but he started paying just the minimum amount due and he almost maxed out both cards. I called the cc companies and had my name removed as an authorized user because of his actions. I would like to know if I could get these 2 cc off my report completely and if so who do I give the request to, the cc companies or do I contact trans, equ, and exp?

This same thing occurred with me and my boyfriend and he ended up having to dispute each of the items, despite my calling each creditor and requesting that he be removed (the accounts were still showing up on his credit report).
