Sorry about the denial, Dobb. I thought you really had a chance and it would've been a great card to have. Maybe you should get a store and a gas card to thicken your credit file. Those are easy to get approved for and you can't really build credit without applying and not getting denied so this is all part of the process.

Macy's and JCPenney are good store cards to have if you shop there from time to time.

My statement cut on 8/21/09 on my Hooter's Mastercard and I noticed there was more available credit. To my suprise a CLI of $200!!!

Hey hey hey that big boy bank Bank of America just unsecured my BofA Platinum Plus Visa and increased my credit line from $1,000 to $1,500. No hard pull at the bureaus. Did it after nine months (9 statements). They are reviewing the card to see if they can convert it to a BofA Mastercard World Points. Time will tell. Feels great to finally be carrying a big boy bank card unsecured.:white-flag:There is hope!!! I am corrected... Bank of America did a hard pull from Transunion before removing the "secured" status on my Bank of America Platinum Visa Plus. Believe my FICO Score was 703 as it droped when my credit report did not show any balances other than installment loans. GADS!!! Heads up on zero balances reporting to the bureaus... it lowers your scores!

That's a bum deal. I have the card you applied for and really like it. Took me three years to get the credit line from $1,000 to $6,000 but HSBC has treated me well. Love the cash rewards! Also, the interest rate is 8.99% no phoney here.

That's the card that I have. I would apply for it and see what happens. Not to get your hopes but it should be an instant approval, that's how I was approved.
