I know some people at work who have the WAMU cards. Wamu charges 15% interest until you run your balance over 50% then ZING they double your rate to 30% in the hopes you cant pay it off. I wonder if they will break your legs if you are a day late on your payment. They make the Mafia seem tame.
Try to get main line credit cards from non S & L's
This is exactly what WaMu did to me a few billing cycles ago. I just PdIF and now it has a zero balance! It will keep a zero balance until Chase picks them up. Then maybe I can renegotiate the rates and perks.

1. Charge off's
2. Lates
3. Over limit
4. Bk's
5. Inq's
6. Trade lines + history
All of this matters when it comes down to a personal loan. By the economy being stricken, it is hard to answer this question right about now.

I think that Chase and Discover only weathered the storm rather well is because they didn't get into the subprime arena.
That is the thing. Credit is a privelage and something that should be earned. For the past decade anybody could get easy credit and that is one of the reasons we are in this mess.

By March 1]
- Save or print your WaMu credit card transaction history. Chase Online will display 3 months of transactions. If you want to make sure you can access up to your last 18 months of WaMu transactions, please go to wamucards.com or wamu.com and print or download your information.
- Review your free FICO® credit score. We're evaluating ways to provide your FICO score through Chase Online because we know it's important to you. As of March 1, however, your free FICO score won't be displayed. Please consider accessing your credit score details for a fee through Chase Credit Builder.
- Update Quicken®/Quickbooks®/MS Money®. Download your transaction history from Chase Online's Download Activity page, which will link to instructions to help you get started. Please update your software before you download from Chase for the first time.
- Plan ahead. You won't have online access to your credit card account from March 4-8 while we move your account to Chase Online. If you want to make a payment online during that time, you'll need to log on before March 4 and schedule an advanced payment to help ensure your payment is received by the due date on your statement.

All you WAMU Cardholders... the time has come. Chase Bank will be integrating the WAMU Card Accounts into the Chase.com system on March 9, 2009. You will soon carry one of the big bank cards. As your WAMU Credit Cards come up for renewal, your card will be converted to Chase and your account will convert March 2009. The big time is here.

Well Kellbell, WellsFargo is currently fighting for Wachovia too and are offering way more money to buy them out... So who knows what will happen!
Interesting! Muy muy interesantissimo! Wachovia must be one of those responsible sub-prime banks, being that offers are actually being made in lieu of "conditions".

Very interesting! I just co-signed for a car loan for my sister. Citibank denied the two of us, but Wachovia financed us. I wonder what Citibank plans on doing with us as a sub-prime customer?
I was denied for a JJill credit card. They are financed by Citi. Even though my credit score is a 660, Citi has blacklisted me from a past default.
But I do indeed like that Tier 1 banks are helping out the sub-prime banks. It will make us sub-primers strive harder to please the powers-that-be!

And to think I may have inadvertantly insulted him. UGH.
