So I wnt to WaMu to deposit money and inquired about the letter. The banker stated the prime rate went up and that is why the APR is higher when changing over to Chase. Is this true????????
No prime rate didnt go up. It has actually gone down the past year.

wowzers! mine has been 9.9 for the last year , the letter stated mine would go up to 10.24%
I received notice that my account is now owned by Chase and some mention about something regarding the complete transition will occur in March (I really haven't read it thoroughly), but no change in apr, thus far. I really liked my Wamu, but I don't particularly care for Chase. I guess time will tell. I also received an wamu email alert informing me that my credit card account access is moving to Chase OnlineSM, effective March 9, 2009.

I received two letters for my two accounts. I as going through the "new" terms and cnditions and it stated that the APR will be 17.24%. Thats actually more than what WaMu had for the cards (16%). I guess Chase is not gonna close the accounts of people who have sub-par credit scores, which is good.

I haven't gotten one of those letters yet. I will try to keep everyone posted when I do.

They are currently sending letters to WaMu customers letters notifying them that their WaMu accounts are going to be converted into a Chase product. I haven't received one yet so I don't know if Chase is going to convert my ESPN Visa into a Chase card.
I got the card last year. The card is printed with WaMu Platinum Visa on the front. On my credit report it shows up as Washington Mutual / Providian. I just hope I don't get dropped even though I called them today.
When I applied, all of the literature and documents that were given to me made no mention of Providian. They all said Washington Mutual Platinum. I got the card last year. Decent CL. APR is not the best.
