Hmm... thanks to eugene66, I went to my Citi Card Platinum Select Mastercard Account and found a credit line increase of $1,800 to a total of $8,000. Like Eugene I do use it alot. Thanks for sharing Eugene. Because of your post I went and looked (and accepted). WOW! FG came through again. :dumbfounded:

I went bk7 on them 7 years got they got deleted, do you think I would have a good chance at applying now?

Amex blacklists customers who have defaulted in the past. According to what i've read in myfico.com.............I would not apply

Discover is another if they are included in the bk filing.

Yeah! I hear what your saying! We'll get to find that out soon enough! That'll be the next surprise. Although through all the changes due to the new legistlation. Citibank & Chase and B of A haven't increase the apr on any of the cards I've got with them. They have changed their terms to reflect the new laws. So maybe that is a good sign. Have you had a similar experience with Citibank, Chase or B of A ?

Citibank hit me twice on one of my accounts last year. Early last year they bumped it up to 18.99%; I called them and they reduced it, then at the beginning of December they jacked it back up to 18.99%. That is typical with Citibank though (I have three Citibank cards-one was a bank that was merged into Citibank-over the past 11 years my rates have been changed on those three cards more than any others; however, Citibank will always work with a good cardholder and they have always reduced it when asked) and it is a cash rewards card so I dont pay interest. Chase....I had 7.99% fixed for over 5 years and suddenly I get my December statement and it is now 14.24% variable. I am not so much mad at the fact that they raised my rate (actually shocked that they left it alone for 5 years) but I never received a notice! I did get a letter from them about a week ago telling me about the CARD Act changes, but there werent any change in terms (other than required by law). So, Citibank gave me proper notice, Chase did not. BofA...I am knocking on wood here...has left me alone. They did send me a really nice packet of info regarding the changes to expect due to Card Act. Part of what they call Clarity Commitment. From what I hear the Card Act will make it harder to get large credit lines if you do not have the verifiable income to back them up.

Congrats on your increase! I always enjoyed getting those CLI's from Citibank too. I wonder if that will change after 2/22 when banks will have to collect pay info to grant CLI's....

From my understanding, AMEX does not forgives.... :worried:  We had a thread here which talked about it, I just can't seem to find it. I am going to update the thread below so we can gather some more info.

For American Express you probably need 700+ scores. Also, I think I read some of your recent posts, I determined that you shouldn't apply for anything for awhile. This was because you had lot's off hard-hits. Hard-hits take two years to go off your report, and you don't want anymore than 8 at a time. Good luck.

I had the card for 4 months before I asked for an increase. You are about guaranteed to get one every 4 months as long as you are using it, and pay on time.
