I am not for sure about that one. I think you might qualify if it was the date of your next qualifying cli. It can't hurt to try, it is not a hard pull on your cr. Do you have a Kay's card? They are pretty cool, and they got a 60% sale going on. Now that is if you have not been out on a credit applying bang:confused:

I should have waited till the 11th of next month but my mom and dad are coming to visit this weekend and I wanted to get her a new ring as she lost her engagement ring sometime ago. I thought inactive Macy's accounts were being converted to Citi Mastercards.

They were. And not even good Citi MasterCards, the regular ones. I think they have stopped doing it though. That never made sense to me, why not just upgrade someone to a Macy's Visa?

You are so true colo, I agree, I would wait one month also. I did not know that they open a second account for large purchases, I only heard that from Macy's. Thanks for sharing this info Jay1, that is very valuable to me.

I've never seen or heard of that either. I do know that they have a MasterCard, but it must be by invitation only, very few people have one.

Here is something on Care Credit, also GEMB. My partner has one it is a co account with his mom. It had a 6,000 credit limit. Two months ago his line was decreased to 1,900, only 200 from the balance 800 of which was a vet bill( by the way you can use Care Credit at the vet) . Now he needs a root canal. He called and GEMB asked what he needed he asked for 1,000 they gave him 1,300. hope this helps other Care Credit customers
