Hi, I just started building credit and I have 8 credit cards.
Capital One Platinum-$750 CL (5 months, My oldest credit card)
Bank of America Student Platinum Plus Visa-$700 CL (4 Months Old)
Capital One Standard Platinum-$500 CL (3 Months Old)
Orchard Bank-$300 (1 Month Old)
First Premier Bank Gold-$250(1 Month Old)
Best Buy Mastercard-$750 (1 Month Old)
Best Buy Store Card-$1300 (1 Month Old)
Newegg Preferred Card-$2000 (1 Month Old)
So I use to different websites to pull my credit reports from and one of them being freecreditreport.com and the other being Bank of America Privacy Assist Premier.
I was looking at my freecreditreport.com credit report and showed that my Bank of America card has reported that I paid my bill on time for the month of November when my billing cycle hadn't ended yet.
I looked at the Bank of America Privacy Assist Premier report and they showed that the last time they report was in October which seems to make sense.
Another thing, Freecreditreport.com gives me scores for all 3 bureaus which are 718 Exp., 721 EQ, 721 TU. But when I check my Bank of America credit report. it doesn't have scores for me because they say my credit is too young to be scored.
So in other words, I don't know which report is accurate. Can somebody please help me out?

Sorry for the confusion. In short, the article is saying is that you shouldn't rely on the three credit reporting websites to sign up for credit monitoring. Not only are their scores inaccurate but they are only interesting in trying to get money out of you. Equifax's ScorePower, Experian's PLUS score, and Transunion's Credit score are just the credit bureau's guesses at what your FICO score should be. From my previous posting lenders don't use FAKO scores; they almost always use FICO scores. So its really just a waste of time and money for you to sign up for something that the lenders dont use. I would only recommend using the credit mointoring system from
www.myfico.com
(they have a number of services that you can choose from) since this is the true fico score that was created by Fair Isaac and that most lenders use this to determine if they want to issue you credit. But keep in mind that some lender will tweak their version of the fico scoring system to accommodate their rules and guidelines for issuing credit.

Paula,
Thanks but that was confusing. I already have my three FICO scores but I would like to monitor monthly. What should I do? Are they all rip-offs? Should I just buy my credit report once every three months and stay on top of it that way?

I would like to get started with a credit monitoring service for all three bureaus. What is the best one? Which service offers the scores that are closest to your real FICO scores? Thanks!
