...
Here is the question, should my credit score be lowered since although I got a new card I was not allotted any credit line and moved some credit from card to card? My thought is no, all I have done is transferred credit from card to card and additional credit wasn't granted.... =Thanks
smcc, my opinion is; your credit score shouldn't be lowered. In fact, it may rise a point or more, simply because your credit profile includes an additional card. Even though there is no limit listed, an additional card would present a lower percentage of overall credit usage.

Why? Because I have another credit card that I have the max credit limit I can get based on my salary. In order to get the Visa Signature Card I had to transfer some of my credit limit from Card (a) to Card (b). Both cards are with the same bank.
Here is the question, should my credit score be lowered since although I got a new card I was not allotted any credit line and moved some credit from card to card? My thought is no, all I have done is transferred credit from card to card and additional credit wasn't granted. The Visa Signature has a no pre set spending limit but I think that option doesn't figure into the equation as to lowering one's credit score based on an additional card.
Thanks

Yendor, the only way you will find that out is if you apply for one of their cards.... It's worth a try, good luck.
You are kidding, Right?

What you can do is:
- Have the CCC send your Sis a Balance Transfer Check or a Convenience Check (as long as it has the same terms ie. fees, APR).
- Have your Sister make the check out to you.
- Deposit the check to your bank account.
- Wait for it to clear. May take up to 14 days depending on your bank.
- Use the money to pay of YOUR cards to a zero balance.

....Most of the time the upgrade is done when the account is at a zero balance for a long period of time... This doesnt mean that im telling you that if you pay off your card and leave it at a zero balance it will get upgraded. The account could also be closed or simply not upgraded ever because of your score....
Thanks for this information. I do understand and agree with, what you have said.

If I am being approved for only Retail Level cards issued by citi bank, (macy's, sears,) etc., when there's a Visa/M.C. level availible, Is this a good indicator that I would not be approved for any CitiBank Master Card at this time?
I really cannot answer that simply because it depends if your scores have dropped/increased, if you've ever been late, had return checks, been OCL... Alot factors that banks look into not just CITI.
Most of the time the upgrade is done when the account is at a zero balance for a long period of time. The trend that I see really often is that if you have ANY Retail Card and not use it for over 12 months it will get upgraded to a Citi MC and double/triple/quadriple... your CL (sometimes not a good choice). This doesnt mean that im telling you that if you pay off your card and leave it at a zero balance it will get upgraded. The account could also be closed or simply not upgraded ever because of your score.
I also have noticed the card members who have anything other than a Retail Card have really nice limits. So that means they have really good scores and not much debt cause the Retail Cards 90% of the time have a zero balance.
I applied for one in July because we get good benefits w/ the cards... Lower APR and such... I also applied for Diamond Preferred Rewards MC and I got denied... A month or two later I got a preapp for the Platinum Select MC and still got denied. Since ive rcvd offerd for the gas cards but havent applied.

Has anyone got several credit cards from one bank?...... My question is would this impact other creditors extending me credit. I have applied to Macy, Kohls, which I was denied. Just wanted to see if this has happened to others.
Each Bank/Credit Issuer, has their own criteria for approval/denial. It is however, a central belief that, all Creditors’ look very closely at the amount/number of accounts an individual has and, has opened in a certain time frame. And the shorter that time frame is, the more likely a denial will be, the result. However, this is not an absolute.
A good rule that has been mentioned by several here on this site is, allow, at minimum, 6months between "binges"(several apps.)
Keep in mind, your FICO SCORE'S, Rule! Therefore, do only the things that will bring an increase of this number.
