They are both Orchard Gold's the one that feeing me to death I opend 12/07. The one that just has the annual fee I opened in 09/06. I have an Aspen MC that has a $750.00 CL that was opened 07/06, that give regular credit line increases without even asking.

Have you tried for Hooters or Capital One yet? You need an upgrade, those other cards you have served their purpose.

Jay1, do you have any cards that are fee-free and older than your Orchard cards?

Jay1 how long have you had Orchard and which card do you have. We need to warn members who we suggest to apply for an Orchard card because having a maintenance fee is not good for those who are not aware of it. I just began to read the fine print this year, I know I am not the only one who looked over it.

If you have any other cards with similar length of history as the Orchard Bank cards or even older, you can go ahead and close the Orchard Bank cards. Like Colonative said, close the one with the least history.

The reason I wanted to combine them is one of the Orchards has a $8.00 a month participation fee, as well as a $79.00 a year annual fee. The first account the one I want to consolidate only has a $59.00 a year annual fee.

How old are they? Do you have a Capital One card? Have you asked Orchard to stop the fees?
I would close the newest one (only if they are within a year or two old) and then on the older one I would ask for them to waive the annual fee. Easy for me to say of course. But worth a shot!
