I just pulled my EX report and I saw that Macy's raised my CL from $800 to $2000. I have not used the card for the last 3-4 months so they probably raised my CL to encourage me to shop there. This was a big surprise though and I hope it's not error.

Applying for store cards in-store is always a better move than applying on-line due to identity verification purposes.

I decided to call the number on the back of the card and an automated message stated that Target no longer takes CLi requests and instead monitors your performance on the card. SO I guess Ill just have to wait.
Which bureau do they normally pull from?????
Also, is it better to apply in store for the Visa????

The key to receiving CLI's on store cards is to heavily use them and pay them on-time. When they see consistent heavy usage and on-time payments, they will raise your CL.

Cireone they do not take requests. They may do it after 3 months if you spend good with them automatically

So today I felt like asking for a CLI on my BestBuy M/C since i had it well over a year and have never been late on payments, in fact the account is has no oustanding balance as of now. I called to ask for the increase and rep told me that the do automatic CLIs but was more than glad to put in a request over the phone. SO I went through the whole secruity info part and not even a minute later he was already stating that Ive been denied. In fact it was as soon after I gave my last part of info he was already giving me the speech of the denial then tried to sell me CreditKeeper. Was not interested. I stated to him that how can I use the card to buy a computer I wanted if you cant grant me the increase, but he was reading off of the sheet provided to him. So Im not gonna pursue CLI for this card anymore. Gonna go for the store card in about a month or so in-store.

Mmmmmm...well it's a start....
First premier $250 now $350.
I don't recommend this card....only if you had to start somewhere...it took them 14 months to give me the darn CLI paid $25 for it , but I'm gonna pay the $84 balance this month so the full $350 could be the CL reporting. wow......

I hear you HJM331. I would hope that if enough people give them bad marks then they would take notice. However, I feel that dealing with sub-prime IS their business and that they have as a business policy to make money off of charging for credit limit increases and not giving out 800 phone#s.

I'm so glad that I found this site and www.creditboards.com as my OC has a 800# but then it directs me to an area code for customer service which is not free!!!!

There's no point to that survey if they don't actually improve their CS calling centers and improve their limits.

Also, I don't feel safe using their card because I feel as if they won't be there to help me if there are fraudulent charges on my account or if my identity gets stolen.

As you all know, about 2.5wks ago, I contacted Orchard Bank through the back door # and requested a CLI. They increased me by $100 for a $10 fee.

Well yesterday, they sent me a survey based on my recent call experience with them (see below). One of the questions was how can HSBC improve my experience with them? I sure did let it rip. I told them for 1. Give me a meaningful increase. my limit is $500 and it takes $95 to fill my van. 2. Don't turn around and charge me for it. I hoep that they contact me.
