Rob, none of the Wal-mart stores around my area have a gas station... I use it for groceries and pif asap.

To those who have a card issued by WaMu, how long did it take for them to increase your limit since you opened your account? I am guessing 6 months? I've had my ESPN Visa for about 4 months now and I'm hoping I will receive a CLI in 2 months.


Ive had the WaMu Plat Visa since 12/2007 and have not rcvd a CLI... I did receive a letter in the mail about a week ago stating that my card was being upgraded to a Platinum Protect account... that I will be rcving a new card shortly and the APR for purchases has been reduced to 5.99% till 09/25/2008... Only for like a few months... Maybe after my closing date I might see a CLI but I doubt it. IDK what other perks this upgrade comes with??? Ill just wait till I get the new card. :cheesing:

Rivasglo, it does seem ad if Wal-Mart is skingy with their CLIs. I have had my Sam's card for over 2 years and I have never gotten an auto increase. I started off at $300 with a pre-approved offer. I called last year and they declined me.

I found out about the luv button last month and they gave me $200 so now I have a $500 limit. I will try again the end of Sept.

I only keep the card because DH luvs to show there and in these hard economic times where the price of gas and food has increased, Walmart/sams does offer cheaper prices.

The benefits outweight the negatives AND I have 5 Wal-Marts within a 7-10min radius of me and 3 of them are Super Wal-Marts. I have a Sam's 7mins from my house and the gas is 3-7cents cheaper. Milk, eggs, OJ purchases a week, the savings more than pays for my $35 membership card.

HJM331, I've had my WAMU card from May 2007, CL of $4500. I have not had a credit limit increase but I have been rate jacked. The only 2 good things about this card is the PFico score, the high initial limit and that it's a local bank where I also have my business account so I guess that makes 3 things.

Lowe's

What is your limit and how long have you had it?

We have had our Lowe's from 2000 and I started out with $1500 and then it was increased about 2-3yrs afterwards to $3205. I called in for the first time last year and asked for a CLI and they either said no or that it would be a hard pull.

Last month, I called in again and the lady increased our limit to $6450, basically doubling my credit limit. That was awesome and no hard pull.

We have used our cards for several big purchases and they often give 12mths 0 interest financing. We've gotten fridges, washer/dryer, and now building materials. I've gotten garden stuff, xmas supplies, lighting etc.

As you get older, this card will grow with you. You may not see a need for it now but 2-5yrs down the line you will kick yourself. I say keep it, it will grow with you and if you ever purchase your own home, you will love it.

This is one of the reasons why I don't really miss Best Buy closing the card on us because we just transferred our purchases to Lowe's. Their workers are more knowledgeable on applicances anyway IMO.

I got a measly CLI on my Wal-mart card!!!!!

Ive had my Wal-mart card since 08/2007, approved online for $125


(I didnt know there was a 4 picture limit on each post... I had more smilies but it said there was a limit of 4 pictures, including smilies! Thats sucks for Meya since shes the smiley queen!)

I guess you could always use it for a gas card since they give a 3 cents a gallon discount and shop with other cards. Thats what I use my wm card for.

I'm thinking of closing my Lowe's card. I have no use for it and don't see this card growing with me. It's also offered by GEMB.
