I commend all of you who have started your own companies. It takes smarts, and a lot of guts. You have to believe in yourself and the product or service and have enough determination to seek out the knowledge and resources to do it.

Hi, my credit is in the mid 700’s. I have good credit but I do not make enough money so paying it back would be a problem. A sound business plan is what I am worried about. Most small businesses fail within the first year. Is the risk worth the reward?

well what does your credit look like? You could get a business credit card if your credit is decent enough, not implying that you have bad credit.

Most small businesses have three options for financing: friends & family, investors or bank loans. Each of these options has different considerations for the business. Investors and even friends & family usually want ownership and control of their portion of the business. Bank loans burden the business with an additional expense of the loan payment, which can erode the business profits. So what do you do? It all depends on your resources or lack there of.

You might be making the wrong move, you dont want to start spammers to come in. You will get enough traffic, it just takes time, knowledge, energy, and patience.

Cobalt you are destroying the value of this site. From what I can see you are opening a similar site and you are trying to destroy this one in hopes of getting some its member base.

Some of us enjoy this site, sure, its far from perfect LOL, but it is a great place for us to meet others with the same issues.

Starting a blog site can be a good start-up business. Many of my friends have tried this and they have earned quite well. I am planning to start my own blog too.

I have started my online around October. I am not yet that skilled but I’m getting there. I believe that in business, you must learn to set aside what you are going use personally and the one needed to run a business.

Well it is about time you do things for yourself. I do agree that what ever your heart tells you and you see a nice things that would happen in your venture then go for it, But do make a plan because without it it would like going to a war without and strategy.

Killian is right about business going down due to piracy. But it's not only due to piracy alone, there are always companies that will come up with a better way to attract the customer with a service that it's competitors don't have. For example, blockbuster was probably the leading company in video rentals in the past. But ever since Netflix came out with a service that you can have your video rentals shipped to your door rather than going to the store and renting it, the Netflix service is apparently for convenient for the customer.

From the area where I come from, video rental stores are almost non-existent. Most of them that I know closed shop. The reason, pirated CD's. There are aplenty and they are very cheap. Maybe, you have not venture into the business that is most profitable to you.
