Nice posting Joeyman! I am just adding assistance to nolabama comments. You made the best decision of your life, admitting and accepting that credit was not destroyed over night and will not be repaired overnight. When you received your denial letters, now is the time to halt any new applications and work on your repairs. I know the feeling of desperate approvals especially when you have no new accounts at all. There are some here that worked on repairs first and then new accounts later on, there are others who worked on new accounts and repaired later (or altogether). Orchard is the best card to start off with and I recommend that you stay focus on making on time payments with them for at least 6 months to 1yr before applying for another credit card since you do have a negative rating from a major banking institution.

I am not for sure if you are aware of how some banks measure your student loan as current available debt ratio. Oh yes, mines is weighed against my credit report as over $100k in current debt even though it is in a deferment status. When we apply for accounts online, the computer generates an approval/denial status and some credit specialist just go with the flow. This is why we call in and ask for an account specialist because that is when your status is manually inspected. Usually they will balance your overall credit report by over looking student loans, which can play a major factor in your debt-to-income ratio, and balance your personal overall debt-to-income ratio. Some get approved, some don't, but it is worth a try. Hope this helps!:embarrassed:

To all new members, we'd like to encourage you to submit credit card reviews of all your current cards.

Some tips on making a review:
• Include your approx. FICO score at the time of approval
• Your length of credit history, past judgements, and other credit cards
• Your overall satisfaction with the particular card and wether or not you suggest it
• Your approved credit limit
• Other, anything else you feel is necessary

Thanks, we would certainly appreciate this!

well anyways Orchard said the card is in the mail so we will see... I and working with a credit lady that helped a friend of mine (she seems shady) waiting to see what happens next

I must settle with various tax agencies first before I can start taking care of the negatives that I still owe on the credit reports.

:embarrassed:

I have to remind myself I did not screw this up overnight and I cannot fix it overnight either.

I understand inquiries hurt. I also know that if they do not inquire I cant get a card. I have looked up my scores and TU is 558 Equifax is 587

Experian's web site sent up beaxcoup red flags by WOT so I dont know what to do about that. I have a report from experian but no number.

I have a student loan that I pay on time, a GMAC charge off (2004) valued at 30k

I have several negative reports from bill collector types and lastly I have no,zero, zip revolving credit.

Oh and Some of the negatives are bank related - mostly a charge off by bank of america and a collections from capitol one.

Did I mention the IRS wants a peice of my a$$ also.....

anyway's ... I hope to find some useful info here - the board does seem like most of america's big shopping malls - vacant...what gives? everybody got good credit and quite hanging here

If there's anything I can do let me know, some of those numbers seem stressful. Good luck! :)
