Does your current BOA card offer a rewards program?
No, I don't need it to. It is a good old fashioned account with 9.9% fixed APR. I use my Citi Dividend and Discover cards the most for the cash back. I have Membership Rewards on Amex so I am good with rewards.

Does your BOA Visa look like this?

That's how mines looks. It's the Worldpoints Visa.

Nope, it looks like this only the platinum is Gold. I will admit this thing is ugly as all hell but at least the numbers and letters are gold and the entire year (2001) is member since. MBNA gold cards have black letters and numbers and the gold color isn't very nice and the member since will just be (01). You should have seen my BofA Visa Gold when I first got the card, it was gorgeous and it supported the 2002 Olympics. Then they did that half blue thing with the Total Protection thing (which sort of looks like a BofA Debit card). I know I am weird about card designs but you want the card to say something when you present it and almost all of my cards have been redesigned over the years and with the exception of my Citi cards all the others have gotten ugly.

When BOA approved for me for their Student Visa card in June 2007, I think they had already bought MBNA. I don't know BOA's CS was before that. Did they give nice increases like they do now?
Yeah, I think the whole MBNA-BofA merger started in 2006 or eariler. I wasn't really impressed with BofA before that. They had this wicked VRU system where you had a have a passcode set up and it was by voice only-it was awful. But now they are really great. A few months ago I opened an online checking account with BofA (there aren't any BofA's here in Colorado) and I have been impressed with them. The only thing I hate about MNBA is their ugly gold cards. My BofA Visa is a gold card and it expires in May so I can only imagine what hideous thing they are going to send me as a replacement.
Anyway, to answer your question, yes, they did give some pretty nice increases. I started out at $2,500 in 2001-but that was raised to $4K right away at my request. Then they raised it to $6K (2003), then $12K (2004), then $15K (2005) $16K (2007) and now it is at $19k (2008). I really think it is the MBNA side of things that give the ridiculous CLI's. I remember when MBNA was still independant and people would have to send their statements in to dispute a double charge (at the company I worked for) I almost fell off my chair seeing their limits.

I heard Chase is planning on putting their cards pm the market in March 2009 so I guess this is only temporary. They're doing this because there's a less chance of consumers hearing about their cards and applying for it. Basically, it will decrease the number of defaults.
These are really weird times, I can't believe this is happening. Like I have said before, I have never had a problem with Chase; however, I do feel like after the Bank One merger the service went down a little. If people don't know, Chase and Bank One/First USA merged and basically the cards are serviced by what was Bank One/First USA.
Same thing happened with Bank of America and MBNA, MBNA's name is gone but they are basically doing the card servicing and the service improved over the old BofA. I was totally not impressed with BofA prior to that.

I assumed that since Chase bought Wamu, you can go inside Wamu for any relations. I know the feeling of not knowing where a Chase is nearby because I had that problem a few months ago...does anyone know if florida has Chase branches? I cant seem to find any online.

Chase is primarily in the west and midwest at the moment. Hang on though because you will have Wells Fargo very soon.
