Not for nothing, but why is cash advances even discussed? You would be much better finding a local loanshark than dealing with your credit card. At least those guys don't report to the bureaus and if you burn them, at best you only get your legs broken or your face bashed in with possibly the taking of certain items in your posession. LOL.

It must be for certain cards, cause my BestBuy card hasnt changed with them....

My reward zone mastercard was not effected either but my household and orchard cash advance limits were restored back to the credit limit level.

Reality, we can be more helpful to you if you listed your credit cards with their limits and opening dates.

Yes, I have other cards. Orchard was the first credit card that accepted me at that particular point of my financial demise. I believe at the time I had about a 510 fico score overall. I hope to believe that I've learned my lesson and walked the talk. My current fico score averages at about 700. I can say that I always felt like a third class citizen with Orchard. On the other hand, no one else would have given me credit at the time. I now have a high limit of 3000. I hope to move forward and believe that I will. I regret accepting Orchard's offer because I didn't need the card and I truly do feel that they degraded me in many ways over the past two plus years. Perhaps that's the price we pay for financial mistakes. If it helps anyone, I have paid all of my accounts in full and on time since I have started this restorative journey. It might be of interest to some that I only used the Orchard Card for cash advances and I always paid in full. I find that interesting.

That is a cool deal. I have been with them for 5 years and I am not at $1500 as of yet. I would say, "Keep it!":fun:

As long as there's no annual fee, I would definitely keep the account open. How long have you had the card for? Do you have any other credit cards?

Well, I've been with Orchard bank for over two years with only one credit line increase, which I believe cost me 25.00 some year and a half ago. I at that time went from a 300.00 limit to a 400.00 limit. In the meantime, I worked on my credit and watched joyously as it improved. Orchard Bank never raised my limit. Two weeks ago, I logged onto my account and noticed the annual fee was due. I decided I was past due in canceling this account and promptly called them. To my astonishment they said that they would raise my credit limit to 1500.00 if I would keep the account open. They also waived the annual fee. I accepted, but kind of regret it. At the same time, I really can't believe it. I called several times for a CLI and was denied, unless I would agree to a hard pull, which I wouldn't. I've come a long way, thanks to this forum and others. There's a big part of me that wishes I had just said goodbye. Anybody have any similar experience?

Replied by KellBell on topic Hi KellBell, they didn't freeze

Hi KellBell, they didn't freeze my bank accounts only my cc account. Sorry if I wasn't clear in my earlier post. I got behind in payments because my husband has been unemployed for the past six months or so and we only had one income and some savings. I'm in the process now of making amends and Orchard is the only one that has turned over my account to collections.

This is a good thing then! Fantastic! You can pay the account. You really can. Ithasn't gotten very far into collections. I'm serious, don't give up. You can pay off this debt. You really really can. Trust me.

I'm going to get very spiritual for the moment: Whatever debts you pay off will come back to you tenfold. If you pay someone/where $10.00 of owed money, you will receive $100 somewhere else.

I hope you believe me because this sort of positive thinking worked for me.

Don't be afraid of the debt. Thta is debt-mentality and it gets you nowhere but anxietyland.

I'm done for today. :cheesing: :cheesing: :sleepy:
