I don't know if they will be leaving soon. I mean if you are in the low 400's (as I once was) they really are the best card to get.... But, like you've said in the past, dont think theyre ever going to raise your CL anytime in this millenium lol

I still have them too and I will be holding on to them for a while

Why not refinance? CU's are great.

I'm $6500 negative equity. I doubt a CU will take that and I can't (right now) pay that off.

HSBC is just bad period. The ONLY good thing about them is the HSBCDirect accounts I got. Even with GMAC (Ally Bank with those cute commercials with the kids) with their sweet interest rates will not get me to switch out. I know ING has better customer service, but it's all about the rate with them. I don't want to get caught out with GMAC, even if they are FDIC insured (I have enough headaches).

I hate HSBC Auto Financing though....it is great they're not taking new customers, because I wouldn't recommend anyone to them. Can't wait until I'm free.

Use HSBC to rebuild and then get the heck out.

I did too. Well wait, no I didnt, I did not take the cards that pimp you out of the $200-up fee list.

Very smart... Wish I had found this website before I went to the dreaded...Continental Finance lol....But they served their purpose for me...

HSBC takes advantage of the consumers that don't have good credit and therefore approve consumers with subprime scores for subprime products including credit cards, auto loans, etc.

Consumers that are used to being denied for credit will gladly take anything even if it has a low CL and high interest rate.

I just recently closed my orchard cc. They wouldnt waive my AF so I said screw it. I didnt see the logic of holding a card with an AF that is 20% of the CL

Like I tell everyone who says this, I am following right behind you, just waiting for the right time to do so:cheesing:

Within the next couple of months, i am going to close all hsbc related cards except household(4k cl with no ann fee 15%apr) because they have served their purpose and will not grow with you....especially direct rewards(even with no ann fee) and the best buy reward zone mastercard.but i would recommend them well above the first premire cards of the world for rebuilding.

I'm starting to think HSBC have a big grudge against me from 10 years ago when I didn't pay my Kmart credit card they issued. I went to their website and applied for a credit card through their pre-approval. I put in my info and I guess they done a soft pull on me because they told me I was pre-approved for their Visa credit card and they told me to apply for it. I applied and they denied me. I'm mad because they put a hard pull on my Experian credit report. That makes 4 inquires on my report.
Their reason for denial is

Terry, I just recently got denied for (1) of their cards and the reason on the denial was; "You recently opened an account with us." When I called in to find out what happened they said "you are only allowed to get another account with them every 18 months." See I've had the Best Buy MC for over a year, but Oct will be 18 months and I have to wait till after October to apply for another HSBC account.

That's what they told me, hope it helps....

Their reason for denial is:
NUMBER OF TRADES(not sure what that mean)
NUMBER OF BANKCARD ACCOUNTS OPEN RECENTLY(I only have 2 that was recently opened. One last month and the other in Feb.)
LENGTH OF TIME BANK/NATIONAL REVOLVING ACCOUNTS HAVE BEEN ESTABLISHED.(I've been rebuilding for almost a year now)
I have an orchard card from them. I pay it off in full every month. It was the Orchard card that I first got almost a year ago.
I will not be applying for anymore credit cards from HSBC. Last year they denied me a Best Buy card that I applied for. My FAKO scores are in the 700's. I'm waiting 2 months before I check my real FICO score.
B of A is my only prime card with a $3000 cl which I've had since Feb. I'm glad B of A gave me a chance even if no one else will.
