Well, I just called Orchard Bank and found out that my account is in collections and the only way to get back in their good graces is to pay the collection agency and then Orchard will release the hold that they have placed on my account.
Has anyone here ever heard of such a thing?
i have paid off my collection with first premire visa but the account is on my credit reports as paid/charge off
now according to the discussing when you say RELEASE what does that mean
does that mean that when you call them they will continue the account from where you left off at or do you have to start from scratch?

When you say your debt is $1,500 is that including the charge-offs? You will still have to pay them back! That is still considered your debt. Soon enough the collectors will contact you to start the process. Just wait. Put some money aside for them now. Don't buy things you can't afford.
Yea, that includes the chargeoffs! And I already went through and called all my old cc companies and after demanding and threatening, I got the collection company info, I want to pay it off before it even becomes a problem. I called about a B of A card I had (years ago, and I hear they blacklist, which is a real bummer because I really wanted another go with them) and when I called the collection agency they referred me to, they said they had no record of my debt! If I were stupid, I would just say "forget it" but "forgetting it" is what got me here in the first place.

I'm 21 years old
I've had some collection stuff in the past
I'm only $1,500 on the whole
my scores are:
Experian - 538
Equifax - 564
TransUnion - 559
I'm having a really hard time paying people back because many of my old accounts have been charged off to collection agencies and when I call the credit card companies to get some insight, they act like they can't even tell me where they sent the account! I signed up for CreditKeeper and it's already really helped me a lot, putting things into perspective and all, but I still want (and need) to pay off this debt while it's still small and easy. Can anybody help me? Thanks!

From what I understand, a lot of the HSBC shareholders across the pond are not happy with the decision to acquire subprime US banks. They may just be limiting their exposure. It is strange though that they would not want to actively market to prime borrowers....

That's too bad. Well, it's their loss. But what's with their Blue Cash card? It say 0% APR for 6 months, no annual fee?

Yesterday I received an email from Household bank that says you can now make online payments on weekends and holidays and you can now make same day payments(until 8pm ET) without a fee.

Meya's right. I remember seeing the AMEX Green card which is a charge card and doesn't have pre-set limit. There was a $125 annual fee.
Can AMEX waive its annual fee? I heard that HSBC can waive their clients' annual fee.
