I investigated and found out that the gov't made an agreement with financial institutions that they could transfer some of their student loans in order to make new loans. I think I like mine better this way too.

Yup! Same thing happened to me. I wonder why they are doing that? But anyway, it is a good thing, deferments and forbearance are much easier with them. I am not bothering mines, even though I had mines solely transfered over to Chase, they are giving it up to Dept of Edu.

I don't know if this is good or bad, but two of my student loan lenders have transferred my loans to the Department of Education. I was wondering had this happened to anyone else.
