rsty99, you know whats so funny, I just found my AT&T calling card about 2 weeks ago when I was doing some spring cleaning around my house. I just looked at it and shredded it up because I did not even know I had one. This thread really tripped me out when I seen it because I actually forgot all about calling cards and I have not even heard a commercial on TV about it. I remember when they were heck of cool to use at pay phones when we did not have cell phones. Pagers really made me keep one because I never kept enough change for the phone booths....lol.

I really think that is a shame how companies can rip off customers with something so antique. But you know what, I believe that they were doing that because calling cards are something that individuals do not look at for fraud. We are more into identity theft and cc theft. I guess we better keep our eyes open for everything now.

I use the ATT calling card from Sams club and just keep recharging it, I even have it programmed into my home phones and don’t subscribe to any long distance company. Just pay enough to have phone on but that’s it. Save money, and use cell for all other phone stuff.

What a mess this is. Who would have thought that Calling Cards had to utilize a police-watch-dog team due to fraudulent practices from big companies. How ate up is that!!!

Wow, this is some scary information. I forgot all about calling cards, especially since cell phones has taken over. Thanks for the info, I guess you shed some light into the saying, "Just because you do not use it, doesn't mean that someone will not abuse it." :scared: :scared:
