Ya I would definitely call Cap1 and ask them for a CLI. You never know when they have pre-approved CLI's waiting for you to redeem.

I did call Cap1, and although they wouldn't increase my credit they did lower my apr from 15% to 11%. Other than my Citis (which are both 0% until March of next year) that's my current lowest apr.

Called Chevron (due to entire gemb site tech difficulties) to pay bill and then I asked softly for a cli, Kaabooom! they gave me $300 bringing account cl to $1800. Wahooooo!

Here is the story behind that, you have to establish some type of spending vs payment history with them. Cc companies are not like to grant someone a cli with no spending history and no payment history with them. So it sort of makes since on the ccc behalf. The good thing is, YOU GOT YOUR CLI....U-GO-GIRL!

Finally! I've called twice before about the issue and hit the luv button once. Each time I was declined. So on a whim I decided to call a third time. From the beginning I thought it was unfair that they were penalizing me with a $200 cl for not immediately using the card. The story is: when you apply online they automatically grant you a cl of only $200 for security issues. To get it increased I was told I had to go into the store the first 30 days and use it. I've had the card for two months and just used it for the first time this weekend. I called today and told the lady the story. She looks over my account, comes back in less than a minute and says she's increased my credit to $1000. Fourth times a charm in my case!! I'm happy!!

Getting a cli from Penneys was like pulling teeth for me.

I have to report my $250 increase on my Hooters card which brings me to $1250...also Im calling that cap one back door # tommorow about an increase. I have a platinum visa and mastercard that are cut up in my garbage because I have a measly $500 CL. I cut up Orchard bank too.... $500 CL and Ive had the card since 2003 or 04 not good enough.
