When the time comes to purchase life insurance, there is nothing more important than making a confident decision without delay. After all, every day that you wait is another day you are taking a risk.
At some point, you will begin to discuss your options with a variety of life insurance agents. Some will have what you are looking for, but others may put you off sooner rather than later.
Here are three signs that a life insurance agent is not right for you:
1. Too pushy. Can you think of anything worse than a life insurance agent acting the same as a used car salesperson? Remember, you are talking about your life, family, and finances. You don’t want to do business with somebody who cares about nothing more than making a sale.
2. Evasive. Like many, you may not know much about buying a life insurance policy (or the industry in general). When you meet with an agent, you expect this person to provide you with answers to all your questions as well as general advice pertaining to your situation. There is nothing wrong with a person who wants to steer you in the right direction. There is something wrong with somebody who is evasive to the point of not answering your questions.
3. Never available. Do you have follow-up questions? Are you interested in meeting with the agent again? If you are unable to get in touch with an agent during the buying process, you may find it challenging to do so once you become a customer. This is something to think about, as customer service is more important today than ever before.
If you feel that a life insurance agent is not providing you with the service you deserve, it is time to move on. There are enough agents out there that you should never feel stuck. Instead, continue your search until you find the life insurance professional who can sell you the right type of policy.
