As a self employed professional, it goes without saying that you always have a lot on your mind. After all, you are responsible for every aspect of your business. From accounting to marketing to sales, you are the person in charge.
Unfortunately, many self employed people face burnout at some point in their career. It is important to understand the signs of this serious problem, as it could help you avoid trouble before it sets in.
Here are three signs of self employment burnout that you should never ignore:
1. Increased level of work related stress. Do you feel stressed out at all times? Does anxiety set in from the second you sit down at your desk in the morning? If so, you need to remove some of this stress and anxiety from your life. If you don’t, the feelings will only get worse.
2. Lack of sleep. Burnout at work has a way of impacting every area of your life, including your sleep patterns. You don’t get enough sleep. Furthermore, when you finally drift off, you never feel that you are truly getting the rest you need.
3. Can’t leave your work behind. There is nothing wrong with being so excited about your work that it’s always on your mind. However, you don’t want this to weigh you down when you are away from the office. For example, you may find yourself stressed out and thinking about a particular project even when you are with family and friends.
These are just a few of the most common signs associated with self employment burnout. If you feel this creeping into your life, eliminate it before it becomes too big of a problem.
