unless it is from a 0 to 3.9% interest check they send you in the mail to access your credit line

I shred those when they come. I dont want to take cash away from none of my cc's, I just use my income. To me it seems useless if you have the cash anyway. This is not a credit or finance opinion, it is just me.

one thing I have never been good at and that is saving.

Princess, it is hard to save, I have to totally agree with you on that. This is not my first time saving, I have slipped a few times and closed the accounts. The only reason why I am so determined now is because I have kids, goals, and more independent. Who's to say it wont happen again? I don't see the future and if anyone says they do, then ask them what does it look like. If they give you an answer, then you better run for dear life and get your soul straight because you just had a conversation with GOD Himself.

Ps, I have been pinching on my down payment for my new car. My time is almost complete with my schooling and when I went into the my student financing account, I saw that my loans are too close to $400 per month. Well when you add the car note, the insurance, gas, and maintenance, that is a good $1k per month right there. But here is one thing that sounds stupid, I STILL WANT IT! hehehehe

Replied by porgy1000 on topic What I do for savings

What I do for savings is put one weeks paycheck away each month into my savings account and I never touch it. If things get tight over the month, I just dont buy things until the next month comes around. I REFUSE to carry a balance on my credit cards unless it is from a 0 to 3.9% interest check they send you in the mail to access your credit line. And even then keep the amounts to under 20% of the credit line

Meya you do make me laugh! Unfortunately saving for the future is not something I have started to act on just yet but it is in my 'to do' list along with other plans for money and the future! but I agree we should save for a rainy day as who knows what can happen tomorrow, when I had my car I was always running short on the funds to fix the thing. I did set up an online savings account but it wasnt long before I was dipping in, one thing I have never been good at and that is saving. :worried:

I agree! Savings is very important but can also be tempting. :fun:

I like to save becasue I do not like to borrow or ask someone for something incase i do have an emergency. For instance, a couple of months ago, I drove too far over the little parking blocks that be in plazas or like walgreeens etc. When I got ready to reverse my car would not do anything. A few men helped picked up the front of the car while I reversed but the rebar that was sticking up from the parking block ended up snatching the bottom of my car apart. During that time I had just came back from vacation and spent funds down completely low, but thanks to saving, I was able to pay my $500 deductable with no problems.

One thing about my savings account, I pay that back faster than I would a credit card, becasue I hate to save and then see a drop. My husband and I are strict about our savings account, it must be something serious going on for us to mess with that. Shhhh, I do dip in there from time to time when it is something I want really bad, but I put it back within 48 hrs or sometimes less. Whats my excuse when I am caught, "Start whining & slaming doors" that ticks him off and makes him feel guilty becasue he hates to see me cry.

Replied by jnjsarauer on topic I don't think of it

I don't think of it as a negative thing. I think of it as a positive thing, as in "I have abundance and have money available for all my needs." I don't think in my mind about it being there for something bad. For those that are concerned about negative vibes, I would suggest that rather than calling it an emergency account they look at it as an abundance account.

Replied by liowkc on topic This is probably people do

This is probably people do not think about insurance or estate planning, thinking when they think about their deaths, they will somehow doe.

Saving for a rainy day is definitely a must

I heard that some people don’t like to save on the special cases like emergencies. When asked, they say that they don’t like the idea of thinking about accident. They are afraid that the negative force will make this come true. Are you one of those people?
