Porgy, in that article nothing is mentioned about your scores dropping if you are an AU. It just stays that it won't help you improve your score anymore if you're an AU. Where did you hear that it will hurt your score?

Why would being an AU hurt your score? That doesn't make sense at all. They need to rethink that thought!

Transunion will be the first to put FICO 08 into use in april, followed by Experian in July.
The good news is that if you have one missed payment it will NOT harm your score more then a few points unlike the current FICO where it can hurt you by as much as 100 points. If you miss several payments or go 60 days late, then you can get a big hit on your score.
BAD news is that Equifax will NOT be using FICO 08, they have sued FICO over it and have won. So one late payment will have a big impact on your Equifax score.
FICO 08 will NOT give you good credit for being an authorized user from someone elses account, therefore, your scores will drop if you are an authorized user on a good / old account. Being an AU on fico 08 will NOT up your TU or EX score, it will lower your scores if you are an AU. However, it will raise your Equifax scores.
