Here are some good tips from Cap 1. I think you are in the clear buddie, jus make sure tha you stay on top of them from here on out. I beleive you can make one or two late payments/over the limit on them twice within 12 months. Here is the info
1. Do You Engage In Universal Default?
We do not engage in a practice known as "universal default." Universal default permits a credit card company to increase your APRs simply because you fail to make a payment on a loan with another lender or your credit history contains other negative information.
2. How Can I Get My Credit Line Increased?
In order to receive your credit line increase, you must activate your card and use it at least once in the first 90 days, don't go over your credit limit, and make your first three minimum monthly payments on time. The credit line increase will be applied to your account the following billing period after your third on-time payment is received.
3. ? Can You Increase My APRs?
Your variable APRs can go up or down as the Prime rate goes up or down. Your introductory APRs may expire and increase to your non-introductory APRs if your payment is received late (3 or more days after your payment due date). We may increase your APRs to the Default APRs disclosed above if your payment is received late twice within any 12 billing periods.[/u] If we increase your APRs to the Default APRs, we will return you to your non-introductory APRs if you make at least the minimum payment on time for 12 consecutive billing periods. In the future, we may increase your APRs if market conditions change. If we increase your APRs for any reason other than an increase in the Prime rate or if you paid late as disclosed above, we will notify you in writing of your options in advance, including the right to opt out.

I screwed up and went over the limit on my new Cap1 card by 8 dollars. I have two Visa cards with them at 300 dollar credit limits apiece. The card that I went overlimit on has an annual fee and I did not take that into account. I have only had this card no more than a month. I have however pif a total of 308 dollars to them this past week as soon as I saw on line that I went over. I hope that they don't rate jack me but I am more worried that they wont give me cli's on either of my cards after 90 days. My first card is up for an its first increase soon and I have not made any mistakes on my other 6 cc's. I have the backdoor number to Cap1 and I plan on giving them a call. I appreciate any thoughts and feelings that any of you might have. Also, they reported the due dute for my very first payment on the new account as being Jan 0001---I have heard of this happening to other customers before and I am wondering if this had an effect of some sort.
