Personal finances have nothing to do with a business bankruptcy. The bankruptcy court appoints a trustee to, among other things, liquidate the assets of the company in order to pay off the debts of the business.

I was wondering if someone here could elaborate on what is involved with and what happens when a business bankruptcy is filed. If the business is a corporation, does that help to keep the bankruptcy separate from personal finances?
