Pulled from Equifax.
Applied online then called and denied, letter to follow.
No BK, No neg history in past 3 years, no late pays in past 3 years, 1 old collection from 5 years ago and no credit pulls from Equifax in past year!

Now this beats me. The online says you need a FICO Score of 623 for a Valero Card. Basic credit background so what's the beef "Valero"?

That is a very strange decision, I had a BK back in 2002, and one baddie on my Equifax report and I was approved for a $300.00 limit, With one inquiry, what does your utilization look like? And whats the average age of your trades? These things can be a HUGE factor when it comes to decisioning any application. Although I know most credit card issuers use their own scoring system from what data they use from your bureau, meaning that score that's generated off their system can be way different than what your true FICOs are from My Fico.

I have several store cards and carry zero balance, I pay off every month if I use them. I have a mortgage that stays current with no lates and one paid car loan that I got through Chase years ago with no lates and one being financed through my bank with no lates... Go figure.
